YearlyKos Convention on Facebook
I'd like to invite everyone to join the group that has been created on Facebook for the YearlyKos Convention and also sign up to attend the convention if you are registered or planning to register.
For those of you that are already on Facebook you already know about the value that the platform provides. For those of you that haven't signed up yet allow me to make the case for you.
The 2006 convention was a landmark event for the netroots. It was the first large gathering and we had some highly impressive speakers and some great content provided through all of the panels, roundtables and workshops. In my opinion though, the most enjoyable and memorable parts of it were getting to meet and talk with all of the people that attended.
Once that was over and everyone hopped on their flight back home things went back to the way they were and interactions seemed a little impersonal again. You might have exchanged emails with people or you might strike up conversations in a comment thread on one of your favorite blogs, but by and large that social interaction was left in Vegas.
However, it doesn't have to be that way this year. With this platform people can use it as their virtual space to connect with friends you meet, discuss a great session you attended with others, talk about events and parties, post links to a great blog entry you just wrote, or just toss out random thoughts and stories. The best part is that the conversations can continue on well after the last flight leaves Chicago.
The group is already fairly large and you'll likely find plenty of people you know there. So come on over and join already.
