Granato is a native of Brooklyn, NY, currently living in Washington, D.C. He served more than eight years in the U.S. Army Reserve. He deployed with the 724th Military Police Battalion and served on active duty in Iraq and Kuwait from December of 2002 through March of 2004. Granato is currently finishing a Master’s degree in Political Science from Florida Atlantic University and working for VoteVets.org on veterans advocacy and national security issues in Washington, D.C.
